"Anarchy in its most sophisticated form" was the headline of the Süddeutsche Zeitung last year; "Awards of the 'Cultural Oscars'" wrote the Neue Westfälische Zeitung; Crescendo, the classical music & lifestyle magazine, even sensed a "Hollywood fragrance in the air". On 7 November, the time has come again: within the ‘Night of Cultural Brands’, the European Cultural Brand Awards will be presented on the site of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein in Essen.

New venue for the Night of Cultural Brands 2019

The UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein in Essen sees itself as a power house of the creative industry, often described as a mine of superlatives. On 7 November 2019, Causales will be rolling out the red carpet for the European Cultural Brand Award ceremony, attracting more than 700 decision-makers from business, culture and the media from Europe to the Ruhr Metropolitan Region.

Within the 14th European Cultural Awards 105 applications were submitted in eight competition categories from all over Europe. The applications are from Germany, France, Holland, Croatia Lithuania, Austria, Czech Republic, and Switzerland.

The shortlist of the European Cultural Brand Awards 2019 has been finalised. On 26 September 2019, a 42-member jury of experts from the fields of culture, business and the media having assembled on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Museum Island Berlin selected 22 nominees.
