The jury's reasoning: Frances Morris has long made a name for herself as a museum director with her dedicated commitment to culture. For 16 years, she made a major contribution to the success of the Tate Modern in London as Director of Collection, and was appointed as its Director in 2016. And justifiably so, the Jury said. As a specialist for European and contemporary post-war international art, she played a key role in the development of the new extension to the Tate and also helped to promote women in the world of art.
