Causales Business Club

The Business Club at the Dortmund U

On 5 December, Jasmin Vogel, responsible for marketing and sponsorships at Dortmund U invited the Causales Business Club for its third visit. The Business Manager of the Dortmund Cultural Sector did not hesitate to lead us through his building and show us the complexity of the “U”. The former brewery building has been laboriously extended and renovated into a center for art and creativity. It is now visible from some distance and it has reshaped the urban landscape of Dortmund.

In the foyer, the participants were warmly greeted by the Causales Business Club team.

The Ostwall Municipal Museum has also found a new home in the Dortmund U and is presenting its collection of art from the 20th century to the present on two floors here. The Director, Prof. Dr. Kurt Wettengl led the participants from the Business Clubs through the collection.

Business Manager, Kurt Eichler pointed out the special features of the building which was “cut open” lengthwise by the architect in the area of the foyer in order to achieve a great deal more light and space.

The curator-led tour through the exhibition, “Moving  Types – Letters in Motion” was just one of the many highlights that evening. Thanks to its excellent kitchen, the evening concluded at Restaurant Emil in the vaulted cellar of the Dortmund U and made it possible to enjoy unique contact between the employees of Dortmund U and the invited guests from the business world.
