The European cultural and creative industries offer immense economic and cultural opportunities. However, without a constant review and promotion of its relevance and potential, it will be less fruitful and dynamic. Culture calls for innovation! And at different levels at that. From Cultural Entrepreneurship to Google Arts and Culture - the constant artistic-creative reinvention of things is essential for successful cultural work. As a source of original ideas, however, culture functions not only as an output for the new, but also as a source of impulses for the development of new and holistic concepts. Can aesthetically oriented innovation contribute to improving certain learning and production processes in the economy? How can new hybrid forms of work and constantly changing corporate and employment structures influence the fields of activity of the future?

On the (Im-)Possibility of Managing Co-Creation
Christian Holst University of Lüneburg, Program Coordinator
Cultural management in theory and practice is characterized by a supply-oriented way of thinking: Management activities should be derived from artistic decisions. The digital transformation, however, is pushing this way of thinking to its limits, as more and more people are becoming active as cultural actors themselves, using existing cultural material. The talk will deal with the question of whether and to what extent such co-creation can expand traditional forms of cultural production and what conditions must be in place in the institutions to make this possible.
